ACA and Health Insurance

We can provide you with ACA health insurance coverage from the Healthcare Marketplace and other off-market plans to get you what you need out of a major medical plan.

ACA Health Insurance and other major medical options provides a safety net against high medical costs, allowing individuals to seek necessary medical attention without the fear of crippling debt.

Affordable Care Act & the Healthcare Marketplace

The Healthcare Marketplace, often referred to as the Health Insurance Exchange, is a crucial component of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Its primary purpose is to provide a platform where individuals, families, and small businesses can shop for and enroll in health insurance plans. It aims to make health insurance more accessible and affordable, particularly for those who do not have access to employer-sponsored coverage, Medicare, or Medicaid.

The Marketplace offers a variety of health insurance plans from different participating insurers that are available for comparison. Through a single streamlined application, individuals can determine their eligibility for these private health plans. The Marketplace cannot deny coverage or charge more based on pre-existing health conditions.

Open enrollment for 2025-2026 plans is from November 1st to January 15th.  Any enrollment outside of those dates must go through qualifications for a Special Enrollment Period

Other Major Medical Options

While the Healthcare Marketplace (established by the Affordable Care Act, or ACA) has made health insurance accessible and often affordable for millions through subsidies, it’s not the only path to coverage. For various reasons, some individuals may not qualify for ACA tax subsidies or may seek different types of plans. It could be that your income is too high or you have access to job-based coverage.

We have carriers that offer short term medical plans.  These plans are designed to fill in those temporary gaps in coverage such as being between jobs and waiting for the new employer coverage to start, or waiting on the next Open Enrollment for ACA health insurance if you missed the deadline and don’t qualify for a Special Enrollment period.  Since they are not Marketplace plans, they don’t qualify for tax credits.
